Opening Ceremony of Postdoctoral Program of SPDB

On Feb. 26th, Postdoctoral Program of SPDB was officially declared open. Leaders and experts from various circles were invited to joint the opening ceremony. Mr. Zhang GuangSheng, Chairman of the Bank, Mr. Jin Yun, President of the bank, Mr. Mao Dali, Vice Director of the Personnel Commission of Shanghai, Mr. Wu Jianrong, Deputy Secretary of Banking Commission of Shanghai Municipality, Mr. Huang Huaqing, Director of Shanghai Office, CBRC, Mr. Zhou Luwei, Vice President of Fudan University, Ms. Gu Meijuan, Director of Fudan Postdoctoral Program, and Mr. Jiang Boke, Executive Director of China Banking Institute attended the opening ceremony.
With the official approval from state personnel commission, the bank became one of the first commercial banks to establish Postdoctoral Program which is attached to Shanghai Fudan University. In Sept. 2003, the first group of postdoctoral researchers started the research program.
The establishment of the postdoctoral program is part of the bank’s human resources development and corporate culture strategy. The bank will cooperate with renowned universities and research institutions at home and abroad and invite famous scholars and experts from all over the world to participate in the program. The bank hopes to make full use of the program to promote management expertise and establish the program as the base for fostering of senior financial management in Shanghai.
The Postdoctoral Program of SPDB will mainly focus on fields like organizational restructure, innovation of financial products, options, capital management and risk control. The theme of the research for this year is “systematic research on the internal rating system of domestic commercial banks” which is one of the rather weak points of the Chinese banking industry. We believe the research will not only help to enhance the capability of the bank’s risk control management and the competitiveness of the bank, but also help to enhance the sound operation of the whole banking industry and lower the overall financial risk, thus having a high practical value and social benefits.
