“Banker” magazine affiliated to “Financial Daily”（UK）is considered to be an authoritative magazine and it announces the list of “world top 1000 banks” every year. The listing is regarded to be the standard of measurement of the comprehensive strength of world banks, and it is also an important indicator(required by New Basel Accord) of bank’s risk control management. It is now the most authoritative listing of world banks.

The new listing of world top 1000 banks 2006 according to core capital is recently announced and will be published on the July edition of “banker”. 25 domestic banks appear on the listing, and SPDB ranked No.251 (No. 261 in 2004 and No.270 in 2005)among world top 1000 banks, and ranked No.9 among domestic banks. The top 10 domestic banks among the list(from top) are: China Construction Bank, ICBC, Agriculture Bank of China, Bank of Communication, Merchant Bank, CITIC Bank, Minsheng Bank, SPDB and Industrial Bank.
