On June 5, 2007, the British magazine Bankers released the 2007 Top 100 Chinese Banks list in Beijing. Based on Tier 1 Capital, Shanghai Pudong Development Bank (SPDB) was cited as No. 8 among all Chinese banks and No. 3 among joint-stock commercial banks in China. Industrial & Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) took the lead in the ranking.
